Afterschool Art Program

     29 Palms Elementary School will be offering three afterschool art programs for up 15 students each.  The classess will be held on Wednesdays, and last for a total of six weeks.  Classes will begin on February 3, 2016 and last until March 9, 2016. 

     All participants must have transportation home.  Classes will begin right after school at 2:50 pm and end at 3:50pm.  Artists nees to have parents here at TPES parking lot no later than 3:50pm.


Class #1

Mr. Schneider will be teaching oil pastels and 3-D art to students in 1st – 3rd grade.  Students will learn the principles of lines; layer and blend vibrant oil pastel colors to create softer images; develop 3-D art with pipe cleaners and clay.

Class #2

Mrs. Squyres will be teaching graphic design and desktop publishing to students in grades 4th-6th grades. Students will work with skills that incorporate combining text and pictures as an advertising and learning tool.

Class #3

Mrs. Killam, retired MUSD Teacher and local artist, will be teaching water colors to students in 4th-6th grade. Students will be introduced to the basic elements of art: line, shape, color, texture and perspective.  Students will also develop their visual imagination.


Sidewinder Cafe**

Please come and enjoy coffee, juice, and pastries while talking to our school's administration, teachers, PTO, and support staff about the positive happenings at Twentynine Palms Elementary School.

February 3 from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM in the TPES Library.

**Sidewinder Cafe is held the first Wednesday of each month.
